These terms are specific to the envie2rouler Alpes (MONARCH SAS) agency and supplement the rental contract. Document current as of 13/07/2026, subject to change.
These general rental terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern the rental of motorcycles by MONARCH SAS, operating the “envie2rouler Alpes” agency (Turtle.Camp), 17 Bd de la Chantourne, 38700 La Tronche, France (the “Lessor”), to the renter (the “Renter”). Booking is made online, by phone or by email. Pick-up and return take place at the agency, or in optional 24/7 self-service using a secure key box. The booking becomes firm once payment has been made in full and these Terms are accepted.
To rent a motorcycle from envie2rouler Alpes, the Renter must:
An online identity verification (Stripe Identity) is mandatory before the vehicle is handed over. Without a validated verification, the motorcycle cannot be released and no refund is possible.
At the latest on pick-up, the Renter presents: their identity document, their valid driving licence and, where applicable, proof of address. These documents must be genuine and valid.
The rental price depends on the duration, the included mileage and the options chosen. It is stated at the time of booking. Payment is made by card. Applicable taxes are included in the displayed price.
The Lessor undertakes to match a cheaper competing offer covering an identical service, and to provide one extra rental day. The guarantee may be claimed before booking, or within 48 hours of the booking being registered and no later than the vehicle's departure: after that, the agreed price is the one on the contract and the guarantee no longer applies. It applies under all of the following conditions:
The Lessor replies within one working day and gives reasons for any refusal by reference to the conditions above. The free day is added to the booked duration, from a single billed day onwards, subject to the vehicle being available on the following day. If the vehicle is already rented that day, the price match stands, but the day is neither postponed, nor replaced, nor financially compensated. It carries no additional mileage: the allowance under article 11 remains that of the billed days. The obligations of article 10, in particular returning the vehicle with a full tank, remain unchanged.
The Renter may take out the Flexible cancellation option at the time of booking, or within the 48 hours that follow — after that it is no longer offered —, charged at 10 % of the rental amount, with a €9 minimum. It grants the right to cancel without giving a reason, right up to the scheduled pick-up time, by way of derogation from the 7-day notice above.
This option is a contractual adjustment of the cancellation terms granted by the Lessor. It is not an insurance contract and confers no cover within the meaning of the French Insurance Code.
A card pre-authorisation (hold) is taken as a security deposit: it is not charged. The card must be in the Renter’s name and have a sufficient limit. Indicative amounts depending on the motorcycle category: €1,500, €2,000 or €3,000. The deposit covers, in particular, damage, missing fuel, extra mileage and any fees.
The vehicle is made available at the agency address, during opening hours or in optional 24/7 self-service via a secure key box. A departure condition report is made. The Renter checks the vehicle’s condition and reports any anomaly before departure.
No-show. If the vehicle is not picked up within 2 hours after the scheduled departure time, the booking is deemed abandoned: the vehicle is automatically returned to the rental fleet and may be assigned to another customer, with no refund of the amounts paid, retained as fixed compensation. A Renter wishing to postpone their pick-up time must inform the agency before the scheduled time.
The booking is for a model of motorcycle, not for one specific machine. The registration number of the vehicle actually allocated is given to the Renter with the pick-up details and appears on the rental contract.
For operational reasons — immobilisation, breakdown, unscheduled servicing, late return by the previous renter — the Lessor may replace the machine without notice with a vehicle of equivalent or higher category and specification, at an unchanged price, without the substitution giving rise to any compensation. The Renter is informed before departure; if the replacement vehicle requires a higher licence category than the Renter holds, or does not suit them, the rental is cancelled and refunded in full.
The Renter rides carefully, complies with the highway code and uses the vehicle only for normal use, excluding any sporting or competition use, subletting or paid transport of persons.
The vehicle is geolocated and fitted with an accelerometer with fall detection. The Renter undertakes to report immediately any fall, impact or claim — within 24 hours (Article L113-2 of the French Insurance Code) — with photos of the damage.
A helmet and gloves are mandatory (available as an option). The vehicle is provided with a given fuel level; it must be returned with a full tank, failing which the missing fuel is charged.
The package includes a set mileage specified at booking. Extra kilometres are charged at the prevailing rate. An unlimited-mileage option may be offered depending on the offer’s conditions.
The vehicle is returned on the agreed date, time and address, in the condition in which it was provided. A return condition report is made. Any delay, damage, missing fuel or excess mileage may be invoiced.
The vehicle is insured. The Renter remains liable, within the limit of the excess and the exclusions of the insurance contract, for damage occurring during the rental. Excluded in particular are: riding without a valid licence, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, non-compliant use, lending the vehicle to an undesignated third party, and any wrongful conduct. The insurer’s detailed conditions are provided to the Renter.
The Renter may take out, at the time of booking or at the latest before the keys are handed over, an option whereby the Lessor waives any claim against the Renter, in respect of material damage caused to the vehicle during the rental, for any amount exceeding €600 per incident, within the limit of the excess applicable to the vehicle.
This option is a term of the rental contract. It does not constitute a contract of insurance, confers no guarantee within the meaning of the French Insurance Code, and gives rise to no payment to the Renter: it solely limits the amount the Lessor may claim from the Renter.
It applies per incident and not per rental: two separate instances of damage give rise to two shares of €600.
It applies neither to damage caused to third parties, nor to theft of the vehicle, nor to indirect losses, nor to mileage, fuel, cleaning or downtime charges. It is set aside in the cases where the vehicle insurer’s own cover is excluded, in particular those listed in Article 13.
Its price appears on the booking summary. It is not refundable after the keys have been handed over.
On motorcycles covered by our insurer Assurance Mutuelle des Motards, the Renter may declare a second driver authorised to ride during the rental. This option is charged per day, up to the cap shown on the booking summary.
The second driver must hold the licence matching the category of the motorcycle rented (A or A2 depending on the machine) and meet the same conditions as the Renter under Article 2. They present their licence and identity document before departure; failing that, they are not authorised to ride.
The option is not available on vehicles covered by another insurer, which is indicated at the time of booking. Where no declaration is made, only the Renter is authorised to ride: riding by an undeclared third party voids the insurance cover and leaves the Renter liable for the full amount of any damage.
In the event of a breakdown or immobilisation, the Renter contacts the Lessor or assistance as set out in the contract. Interventions arising from the Renter’s fault remain at their expense.
Any claim, theft or attempted theft must be reported immediately to the Lessor and, where applicable, to the authorities (police report). In the event of theft, the vehicle’s keys and documents must be recoverable. The Renter is answerable for the consequences of failing to report within the time limits.
Neither party is liable for a breach due to force majeure within the meaning of Article 1218 of the French Civil Code. In the event of unavailability, the Lessor may offer a replacement vehicle or refund the amounts paid.
Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, including the vehicle’s geolocation and telematics data during the rental.
In accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to vehicle-rental services provided on a specific date or period.
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the Renter may use, free of charge, the competent consumer mediator: the Mediator of the FNA (Fédération Nationale de l’Automobile). Failing an amicable resolution, the competent courts are determined according to the rules of consumer law.
